In 1976, in a southern Wisconsin barn, a pair of visionaries set out to create the best bikes in the world. They fostered a culture of craftsmanship, where every bicycle built was a point of pride. To this day, though we’ve grown far beyond our roots, every bike we make is a testament to Trek’s founding principles.
Raised on Rocket Science:
No one in the world has done more to refine and redefine the experience of riding a bicycle than the engineers and designers at Trek. The path to superior performance is paved with curiosity, so we give the brightest and most passionate scientists the resources to question everything. This is where real innovation begins.
Raced to Win:
We live at the edge of human performance, where the difference between winning and losing is millimeters and micrograms. Our passion for victory drives us to build to perfection. With every bike we make, we give a competitive advantage to our racers and to riders everywhere with the will and audacity to put it all on the line.
Warrantied for Life:
Each Trek carries a simple promise: We’ll take care of you and do what's right. We build our bikes to last, subjecting them to brutal punishment in the world's toughest test lab. And we back every bike with the best lifetime warranty in the business, all the way back to our very first frames built in 1976.
Loved Around the World:
Millions of people ride Trek bikes in hundreds of countries around the world. Wherever there is someone on two wheels, there is a measure of joy to which we all relate. Geography may divide us, but we are united the power of the bicycle—a simple, elegant solution to many of the world’s most complex problems.Millions of people ride Trek bikes in hundreds of countries around the world. Bontrager was born of a genuine need for cycling equipment that would stand up to the elements and allow riders to push boundaries, advance the sport, and redefine expectations of quality. In the late 1970s, as a new style of mountain biking was beginning to garner enthusiasm across the country, Keith Bontrager— engineer, designer, physicist, mechanic, rider, and natural-born do-it-yourselfer—recognized the need for high quality parts that would hold up to the demands of off-road riding.
Bontrager, who had already made a name for himself in motorcycle racing when he started crafting handmade bicycle frames and components in his Santa Cruz, California garage, loved a good problem, and he found an endless supply of opportunities by dumpster-diving around Southern California bike shops, scrounging broken parts. Keith analyzed the failures to come up with better, more durable designs. His study of failure revealed a hard engineering truth: you can’t have it all—a lesson he summed up in classic Keith style: “Strong. Light. Cheap. Pick two.”
Keith chose strong and light, and earned his reputation building some of the strongest, lightest components around. Cheap, no. Best, yes. It was a no-compromise approach grounded in the understanding that value is much more than price alone. This principle guides Bontrager development today.
In 1995, Keith sold Bontrager to Trek Bicycle, freeing himself from the stresses and financial struggles of managing a business and allowing him to focus on what he does best: design and test bike components. Since then, the brand has established itself as a world leader in the development of the highest quality components, wheels, and apparel for all styles of riding.
We make bikes for people to ride. Not like the second leg of a triathlon ride. But if someone actually did that, it would be amazing. We just get you where you need to go, and make sure you have fun doing it.
Wherever. Whenever. Whoever you are. Ours is not an exclusive club. If you like to have a good time, you’re in.
The codeword is: didgeridoo. It’s just fun to say.
The point is, we started this company because we thought bikes could be more fun. We thought they could look a little cooler. Then we stopped thinking and went to the beach. But eventually we made it back to our studio and starting designing. The result was a cruiser that looked and rode unlike any other bike out there.
And you guys loved it.
So we made more. Over 20 years later, we’re still doing it. Still being true to ourselves. Still kicking convention to the curb. And still creating new ways to ride. Because we believe our best bike is our next bike. From beach cruisers to urban commuters, the perfect bike for you is in here somewhere.
You rock. Let’s roll.
Who We Are
At Felt, our mission remains as it’s been since the beginning: to design, develop and deliver the best bicycles in the world. Period.
The roots of this mission trace back more than two decades. It all started in the late 1980s when motocross star Johnny O’Mara asked his ace motorcycle mechanic Jim Felt to build him a time trial bike. Johnny was competing in triathlons as training for motocross.
A competitive age-group triathlete himself, Jim had a distinct vision of how he could improve on the designs of the time. He focused on optimizing rider position to maximize aerodynamic efficiency. It worked. Johnny immediately started winning races, and before long Jim was building bikes for many of the world’s top triathletes. When Paula Newby-Fraser won the 1991 Kona Ironman on a Felt, Jim found himself officially in the bicycle business.
Ten years after Jim Felt built that first triathlon bike, it was time to expand. Enter Bill Duehring and Michael Mullmann. Bill, a bike industry veteran, brought years of product development experience and strong global supplier ties. Michael owned a successful distribution company in Europe. It was the perfect melding of skills. Felt now had more than 70 years of combined experience in developing, manufacturing and distributing high-quality bicycles. Jim brought his respected name, design experience and athlete relationships. Bill had broad-based product development knowledge and vendor connections. Michael had extensive experience in distribution and marketing.
“We didn’t want to be the biggest bike company in the world, just the best” was the trio’s shared maxim. Together Jim, Bill and Michael developed a singular goal: to build a bicycle brand dedicated to technological innovation and unmatched quality.
Since those fledgling days the Felt brand has grown far beyond its triathlon roots, and today includes a complete bike line that touches all of cycling’s various disciplines. Whether climbing the highest peaks of the Tour de France, bombing down single-track, racing your first triathlon, or commuting to work, Felt delivers a bike with uncompromised performance, maximum comfort and optimized efficiency.
In engineering, product development, sales, marketing and customer service, the same underlying values that sparked the start of the company continue to drive every Felt employee, every day. Indeed, every Felt bike is designed and built to make your cycling experience the absolute best it can be. No matter how you measure success, be it product development, milestones, or race wins, Felt has delivered. From innovative manufacturing processes such as InsideOut+ to breakthrough technologies such as Equilink suspension and the Bayonet Steering System, Felt is constantly expanding the boundaries of possibility and making them a reality.
The core to this success is a company-wide mandate to continually improve on past success. Nothing is done in a vacuum. Instead, each new Felt bike, be it road or off-road, high-end performance to entry-level recreation, utilizes critical lessons from past designs and then incorporates new enhancements. The results speak for themselves. The world’s fastest UCI legal time trial bike, the DA, continues to dominate the international time trial and triathlon circuit. The Edict full-suspension mountain bike is a stalwart on the world’s elite cross-country scene. The top-tier F road bikes are mainstays of the European peloton. And, the TK1 has been raced on the track at two Olympic Games, Beijing in 2008 and London in 2012.

It was a cold day in December 1995, the winter solstice, when Jack Wiswell ran into an old high school buddy, Wayne Oom, at a Christmas party in Hastings Michigan where they both had grown up. Wayne was back in town for the holidays when Jack showed him an idea he'd sketched up on a cocktail napkin. -
Today, Wheelz is committed to producing the most innovative, comfortable and earth friendly human powered vehicles in the world. We try to give back more than we take from the planet and humanity in general. That's how we are Part of the Solution.

To provide a well-designed bicycle that delivers superior performance with uncompromised style.
What We’ve Accomplished
Bacchetta Bicycles, Inc. opened its doors in April 2001. In that short time, the company has achieved renowned respect in the bicycle industry for producing our exceptional line of recumbent bicycles. Bacchetta draws on the forty years of combined recumbent experience of John Schlitter, Rich Pinto, and Mark Colliton to produce the highest quality bicycles and accessories for you, the recumbent enthusiast.
Our innovative frame designs have started a trend in the industry. We have developed what has now become known as the standard for performance recumbents.
Where We’re Going
We have bright expectations for our future and we believe that the best is yet to come. We’re continually striving to maintain Bacchetta’s position as recumbent trailblazers. We will go on creating innovative bikes and striking designs. We’re always improving on our well-known line of performance recumbents, so our customers can continue to expect high quality bikes in the upcoming future. We’ll also be working toward expanding our product line to include more designs to fit the needs and goals of all rider types.
The Catrike Story
Catrike was created in 2000 by Paulo Camasmie, a Brazilian Mechanical Engineer.
Paulo always dreamed of designing, engineering and manufacturing new quality products to improve people's lives. Catrike is the fruit of that vision. The desire and pursuit of building the best possible recumbent trike.
The Catrike has received so far 6 awards for the Trike of the Year by the readers of Bent Rider Online. Catrike has also been elected in 2008 the Manufacturer of the Year under 100 employees by the Manufacturer Association of Central Florida, and in 2009 the Manufacturer of the Year under 125 employees by the Manufacturers Association of Florida.
At Catrike we focus on product development, engineering and process design. The result are great products that look fantastic, work beautifully and flawlessly, require very low maintenance, are user friendly, and sure to provide many years of fun and pleasure at an affordable price. As a consequence of that, we are making over 2,300 trikes and bikes every year and growing steadily.
Our passion for design & engineering is reflected in our product, which speaks for itself. A good example is the breakthrough design of the Catrike Space Frame, fully triangulated and an impressive relation of strength, stiffness and weight, and its "magic carpet" like ride & handling.

A NEW KIND OF OUTDOOR ADVENTURE BRAND
Giro comes from a unique place. Santa Cruz, California’s location—at the intersection of surf and mountains—attracts people of an independent mindset: outdoors people; iconoclasts who set their own priorities, more inclined to put human values ahead of corporate interests. Counter intuitively, it turns out that Santa Cruz, a place where business shuts down when the surf is up, has proven to be a powerful entrepreneurial incubator.

Shimano American Corp.
In 1961, a 3-speed bicycle hub displayed at the New York Toy Show was the catalyst for what would eventually become Shimano American Corporation. The popularity of 20-inch wheeled bikes with hi-rise handle bars fueled a demand for multi-speed hubs and Shimano was producing an affordable and reliable version that caught the attention of the industry. So much so, that by 1965, Yoshizo Shimano, the youngest son of the company founder in Japan, opened an office in New York to get quicker product feedback and to provide technical and warranty assistance to retailers selling bikes equipped with Shimano parts.
Though Shimano American has grown from that first modest office staffed by only three people to a full distribution center with sales and marketing offices, the goals are the same: to ensure that Shimano always has a listening ear to provide feedback on relevant trends and needs of the North American market for both bicycle and fishing products and make those a reality for our customers. Additionally, a good product is often judged as such by the support that the company provides, and our offices are staffed with customer service personnel that can answer questions and facilitate warranty resolution with just a phone call.
Shimano’s participation extends much further than the product, though. Through advocacy programs, ISO 14001 certification, and even commuter / car pool programs for employees, Shimano practices good local citizenship, pursues continued access to those areas that are enjoyed by outdoor enthusiasts, and is committed to minimizing our impact on the environment.
90 pounds. 38 miles.
Before there was a Pearl Izumi, there was a man and a bike. He rode that bike 38 miles a day, every day. Not for exercise or for the fun of it, but to deliver 90 pounds of clothing to his customers in a neighboring village.
The year: 1955. The man’s name: Kinji Shimizu. And in nine short years, he’d go from lugging clothing on a bike to redefining what every cyclist wore on them.
1 in 15.
In 1964, one of Kinji’s sons, Hiro, raced for the Japanese national team at the Asian Cycling Championships. The team ordered its usual fourteen cotton kits. And a special fifteenth.
After the races, the team director filled a helmet with scraps of paper with each racer’s name. As fate would have it, Hiro’s name was pulled. He won the special jersey. It was made in Italy and 100% nylon. Unlike anything he’d ever seen before.
Later that year, Kinji created his first kit based on that made in Italy design. He used only the best materials he could find.
Kinji continued pushing his concepts. He was endless in his endeavors, constantly researching new fabrics and studying the body in motion.
Over the next five decades, this obsessive approach led to innovation after innovation. Building the very foundation for everything we do today.
In the early 1970s, Michael Zane was a free-spirited, bearded kid with a VW van and a big idea for a new kind of lock. He traveled thousands of miles showing the unique U-shaped locking device and spreading his passion for bicycle security to bike dealers all around the country and forged lifetime relationships. The company soon expanded its product line to include powersports, hardware and snowsports security.
Through innovative product designs, incredible marketing savvy, legendary customer service and pure fanaticism for security, Kryptonite grew with a cult-like following. That following only grew after hearing Kryptonite's legendary stories of leaving bicycles locked in New York City for days with the Kryptonite lock and bike still being there.
In 2001, the company that was started in a VW van was purchased by industry giant Ingersoll Rand (NYSE: IR) (now Allegion) and became a flagship brand in its Security Technologies sector. Publications such as Bicycling, Fortune, The Wall Street Journal, US News & World Report and a host of others continued to tout Kryptonite products as the best on the market. The company continued showing thieves and competitors alike that it was more focused and better than ever.
During the fall of 2004, it was discovered that the industry-standard tubular cylinder, used in most brands of portable security products, could be compromised, at times, with a household item. Kryptonite flew into action, created a voluntary lock exchange program and replaced over 400,000 locks in 21 countries for free. To do this, the company redesigned the equivalent of 9 years worth of new products in just 10 short months. Kryptonite is the only company in the world that offered such a comprehensive plan to customers, taking its 'legendary customer service' pledge to new heights
The people at Kryptonite have a pure passion for creating the best security in the world. It's their innovative product designs, intimate knowledge of market trends and complete commitment to customers that will continue to keep the competition striving to reach the high bar Kryptonite sets and allows their customers to feel free to stop wherever they want.
Based in Golden, Colorado, Feedback Sportswas founded by avid cyclist/racer Doug Hudson in 2004 with his development of the Alpine Digital Scale to weigh bicycles. Early on, the scales were successfully distributed through another Colorado company named Ultimate Bike Support, which Feedback Sports acquired in 2008 to add bicycle work stands and storage stands to the Feedback product mix. We have since refined these proven, award winning designs and continue to develop new and innovative products.
Our mission is to create products that we are proud of and believe in, while forging long-lasting relationships with our customers. Our passion for cycling led to an appreciation for high-performing, well-tuned machines and this flows into the products we make. Our company’s namesake (Feedback Sports) comes from an engineer’s use of feedback loops and cycles to improve and stabilize systems.
This is the goal of our company and our products… using Feedback for improvement.

Weehoo didn’t start as a business venture but began as an attempt to keep the kids interested in a sport I love, biking. I had tried the other bike trailers for kids and found that if they weren’t terrifying, they put the kids to sleep. I was tired of having to choose between enjoying biking and bringing my kids, so I sat down and decided to solve the problem myself.
In early 2008 I began examining what made all thetrailers contrast in their effect on my kids, hoping to find the perfect middle ground of joy and safety. I set up a bench in my garage and utilized my engineering background to try and piece together a solution that would empower me to get outside with my kids.
Finally in late 2008 I had pieced together the first rendition of my bike trailer. It didn’t matter how it looked; all that mattered was what the kids thought. My son jumped in the seat excited to help his Dad try out this new invention. We rounded the cul de sac a few times until my son begged me to go faster. Thrilled to begin the real test I started adventuring around the neighborhood. Caught up in the moment I zoomed off of the sidewalk and heard my son shout
“WEEEEHOOO!!! This is great!” At that moment a light went off in my head. I began to imagine what it would be like if every parent could enjoy riding like this. Two years since the first exclamation of my son, the “Weehoo” was hitting the US market. Our success shot through the roof. By the end of 2010 we had reached the European market and a few countries around the globe! Five years and 50,000 trailers we are still growing and empowering parents to get out and enjoy the time with their kids in ways they never thought possible. We are glad to have you visit our website and encourage you to check out the touching stories of parents from around the world on our facebook page. I look forward to seeing your adventure. Be Curious. Adventure more.

Chicago industrial designer Maria Boustead hatched the idea for our functional and versatile bags back in 2009 when she couldn’t find a bag practical enough to attach to her bike for her work commutes and stylish enough to take into her office. “Why hasn’t any company thought to do this yet?” she wondered, and then decided to solve the problem herself.
